You are now familiar with our activity and you come to discover the wonders of the rocky coast and the rocks in full water (rock of Cyprien Saint and Tavac), the wrecks (the Alice Robert (the “Bananier”, Astrée, Saumur, the Saint Lucien which requires a level 2 CMAS certification minimum, and the Pythéas)
The seabed you can discover, starting from St. Cyprian, being rich with more than 1200 animal species and 500 plant species, you will discover during your dives, bream, sea bream, Danthes, groupers, wrasse, wrasse, conger and moray eels, anemones and mollusks and many other fish and invertebrates.
The diving spots
- " Sainte Catherine"" Behind Cape Béar:
0 to22 m. This spot is off medium difficulty, well shielded from the Tramontante winds, you can discover here corral reefs, a very transparent water and plenty of Crayfish.
- "La Mauresque", 12 à 20 mètres.
It is a very protected area where you encounter octopus, scorpion fish, conger.
- "La Moulade", 20 mètres.
The site consists of large erected rocks erected with narrow passages. We may even see groupers back for some years now. Wildlife is very important and varied here.
- "Le Cap Grau"
A site protected from the winds from the east, we can discover three underwater rocks ten meters to three meters on the rocky coast with a corridor leading us to the coralline starting at twelve meters. Large orange and yellow sponges guide your path to lead you to the red coral, crayfish and rock fish. Off course you’ll find white gorgonians, pomfret, and many open-water fish, sea urchins and starfish live on these rocks.
-"L' Ouille"
At the beginning of the rocky coast, an ideal site for baptisms and for beginner divers. A beautiful arch and many holes are home to many species. This site offers dives between two and fourteen meters.
- "Les Eboulis"
A site almost at the tip of Cape Bear or as its name suggests many rocks positioned on top of each other are shelters for rockfish. Congress and Mosteller, Octopus and migratory fish present. On this site, water is clear, but often the current is strong.
- "La Pointe Béar"
A site very difficult to explore in July and August due to the number of ships sailing on this spot. It is better to have a lot of experience and a good working knowledge of underwater orientation is essential andthat is a site that quickly drops below twenty meters. Visibility is often very good and you’ll always be surprised with the marine live you encounter here.
- Les Batteries
You immerge yourself in three meter of water in the middle of Posidonia, then work your way back out to sea you will go along the coast where you find fallen rocks and coral. Anemones, spirograhes, octopus, squid and rays will take you from 12 meters on the coral rocks where morays often bark when you pass by.
-Tavac
An open water site , the anchor of the boat will land at fourteen meters and you will slip into the blue down to a pebble beach. From here you move farther for a few meters and you will find a break going down to 20 meters. Two large slabs covered with concretions contain all the rockfish you can find in the Mediterranean.
- La Réserve marine de Banyuls (Cap l'Abeille)
On this spot there are a lot of grouper, Corbis, seawolves, sea bream and Danthes. They are very easy dives between 3 and 15 meters. Only on Sunday during July and August. The site will be planned with at least 8 divers and a supplement for fuel will be requested.
